Something special.
Once a storm uprooted a very, very old tree of life in our neighborhood. A thuja with such a large diameter is not rare and, despite the sadness of the sudden end, we got itchy fingers. The result is a very sensual object. The wood feels very smooth, so the contour simply had to follow!
Turning of such large objects represents a challenge for people and material. Many, many hours of different handling are involved in each object ... storage and preparation of the wood, shaping, smoothing and surface finishing of the resulted object. And every stool is a free hand unique!
Working from solid wood is accompanied by individual cracks and splits. This is inevitable and represents a special characteristic. The pictures show the stool from two sides, a better impression of the cracks in the material can be given.

The wood tone can change slightly under the influence of UV light (darken).
